DANIDA and WAGES had a successful workshop which saw over 200 artists both local and international participate. The workshops were designed to grow everyone and included:

  • Crayon on Paper and Canvas
  • Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
  • Banana Fibre
  • Print Making
  • Molding and Modeling
  • Bead works
  • Art and Self Discovery

Sane Wadu Trust and Global Alliance for Africa has been operating effective therapeutic arts programs for orphans and vulnarable children affected by HIV/AIDS in East Africa.The objectives of the program include training children in art techniques and specific indiginious crafts,providing them to use art as an outlet for expression and most importantly,helping them to develop a healthy psycho-social context to remember the individuals they have lost.

The program currently consists of visual arts—By reknown Kenya artists -Sane Wadu and Eunice Wadu based in Naivasha. Dance and drama—by Tanzanian Maeda Haji and Salum Moya from Bagamoyo. Through therapeutic art programs Sane Wadu Trust encounters a diverse population of orphaned and vulnarable children who are beneficiallies. Currently,approximately 100 children per month at Sane Wadu Trust studios participate in the therapeutic arts programs. Sane Wadu Trust have acheived significant results with the children in the art therapt programs.
